Short answer: Romanized Hindi, which is Hindi written in Latin characters, is the most common form of Hindi online, and especially on social media. According to Palakodety et al., analyzing YouTube comments in India: 52% are in Romanized Hindi, 46% are in English, and only 1% are in Devanagari Hindi.[1]
