At what age did Cristiano start playing football[edit]

When he was barely seven years old, Ronaldo first laced up his football boots in Andorinha. Because his father worked as the club's kit man, he found it easy to adjust to life as a football player very fast. He joined Nacional when he was 10 years old and was a member of the club for two years. At the age of 12, Ronaldo participated in a trial with Sporting that lasted for three days, and the club eventually paid him a price of £1500 to sign with them. Ronaldo made his first appearance at the age of 17, in a game for Sporting Lisbon in the Primeira Liga on September 29, 2002, when the club faced Braga. Following this in a match against Moreirense on October 7, 2002, when Ronaldo scored two goals in a 3-0 victory for his team. This was his first goal in football played at the senior level.[1]

Then, at the age of sixteen, he was discovered by the former manager of Liverpool, Gerard Houllier. However, Liverpool had no plans to recruit him at the time because they believed he was too young and that he required additional time to improve his skills. However, during the summer of 2003, when Sporting played against Manchester United and was victorious, Cristiano drew the attention of Manchester United's manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. Ronaldo was the first player of Portuguese descent to ever suit up for Manchester United.[2]

Cristiano’s professional debut and career as a football player[edit]

The time that Ronaldo spent with the Manchester United team was nothing short of extraordinary. During the six years that he was a member of the squad, he was one of the best players, and as a result, he helped the team win three league titles and the 2008 UEFA Champions League. Due to the fact that he scored 84 goals for the team during the course of 196 games that he played for them, he quickly became one of the most exciting as well as dramatic players to watch.[3]

After receiving an offer from Real Madrid in the amount of $133 million in 2009, Ronaldo decided to take his talents to Spain. This made him one of the most expensive players in the world at the time. He scored 33 goals in his first season, and then he went on to score 40 goals in the season after that. He lived up to the hype. The subsequent goal-scoring feat set a league record and was a significant contributor to Real Madrid's triumph in the Copa del Rey competition.[4]

In 2012, he had another incredible year in his career, scoring a total of 60 goals, which made it almost too easy for Real Madrid to canter to the Spanish League title with 100 points. In total, Real Madrid won the title. The year after that, he had another legendary season, scoring 51 goals to lead Real Madrid to victory in the UEFA Champions League, a trophy that had eluded the club for many years.[5]

Before transferring his abilities to Juventus, he won even more championships and accomplishments with the squad, which led to him being recruited by Juventus. The club gave him a deal that was worth $117 million over the course of four years. In point of fact, the vast majority of people include him in discussions about the best players of all time, frequently as part of a competition with Lionel Messi.[6]

On the 27th of August 2021, Manchester United made the announcement that they had achieved a deal with Juventus to re-sign Ronaldo. The transfer, which was verified on August 31 and was rumored to have an initial cost of 12.85 million pounds, along with a contract for two years with an additional year as an option, was reported.
